Imagine if everyone could be happy all the time and we could spread happiness around like confetti. Imagine what kind of world we would live in. Wouldn’t the world be a better and brighter place?
I do believe that happiness can be attainable. While it may be unlikely to be happy 100% of the time, I think it is possible to find it in even in the worst situations. Choosing to be happy and to stay positive can make even the most challenging situations, easier to bear. Why spend energy being angry or sad when you can spend it thinking about the good things in your life.
Finding happiness and maintaining a positive attitude doesn’t always come easy. At times it can be a lot of work but I’ve taken steps that make it so much easier for me to see the good in life. So please consider the following and see if you can become more happy and apply some of the suggestion to your daily life.
Be Kind Toward Yourself:
Be kind toward yourself. Really. Stop beating yourself up for the things you aren’t and start loving yourself for the things you are. Think about all the great qualities you have and tell yourself how amazing you truly are. Be happy being you!
Take Care Of Yourself:
Find time for the things you love and enjoy each day. By taking care of yourself you will be better equipped to take care of those around you. When you’re doing what you love, you will begin to feel happy and will notice your mood change. See how that impacts those around you too and how you can better support the people in your life. Plus, doing what you love will inspire and encourage people to do it too.
Exercise:
Exercise not only gives us energy, relieves stress, and is good for our health; but when we exercise we also release Dopamine, which is a chemical neurotransmitter in the brain that gives us feelings of pleasure and happiness. So the next time you’re feeling down, stressed or anxious, get off the couch and go exercise instead. You’ll be a healthier and happier person for life.
Smile:
Don’t wait to be happy; think of something good in your life, smile, and see what happens. See how your mood shifts. The simple act of smiling sends a message to your brain that you are happy. I think this is one of the best methods to make your day better as well as spread happiness around to others. When someone smiles, you can’t help but smile too. In fact, did you know that you use more muscles in your face to frown than to smile. So get smiling!
Surprise Someone:
Surprise the people you love! Maybe give them a compliment, a hug, or send them a kind note, text, email, card, small present or flowers. Let them know you are thinking of them. This allows them to feel happy, loved, and appreciated, and you will feel good too.
Pay It Forward:
Notice and help someone around you, maybe even a perfect stranger. Do something kind and in return, maybe that person will too, create a happiness train. You never know what kind of impact a simple gesture can have on someone’s day.
Choose To Be Around The Right People:
Spend time with nice people who are smart, driven, and like minded. Relationships should help you, not hurt you. So stay away from negativity and gossiping. If you want to live a positive, joyful life, you cannot be surrounded by negative people who don’t encourage your happiness.
Reinforce Positive Thinking:
The thing with our thoughts is that they become words and then actions, so it’s important we observe them and choose them wisely. Our thoughts and actions can either spread happiness or sadness. The choice is ours! Don’t let self-limiting beliefs convince you that you can’t have what you want. Don’t let someone else’s opinion become your reality. Love you from the inside out. You can and have the right to be happy.
